While expanding in California, we've been asked quite a bit about the "challenges" of sobriety in Los Angeles. But being in sobriety doesn't mean that you can't enjoy Los Angeles' vibrant nightlife. There are plenty of ways to have fun without relying on substances and our residents are proof of that.

Here are some tips to help you make the most of LA's nightlife scene while maintaining your sobriety:


Look into sober events - There are many sober events happening in LA, including comedy shows, concerts, and dance parties. These events offer a safe and fun environment where you can connect with other sober individuals and enjoy a night out without alcohol or drugs. Here are some establishments that offer options for people who are alcohol free:

 Auburn is a fantastic fine-dining establishment in Hancock Park founded by Eric Blum, an alumnus of the wildly popular French restaurant Republique. a subset of the state of the world.


The bar 71Above has the best view in all of Los Angeles. This bar, located on the top floor of LA's tallest building, offers a breathtaking 360-degree view of Downtown LA. It's also a good place to get a non-alcoholic drink. The bartenders are known for creating delectable cocktails that taste just as good without the alcohol. And you won't need booze to set the mood when you're that high up.

Gracias Madre is a popular West Hollywood eatery with a "On the Wagon" section that offers some excellent non-alcoholic options. Gracias Madre is a vegan Mexican food establishment that offers not only virgin margaritas, but also the delicious Michelada Sin Cerveza, which consists of habanero bitters, jalapeño basil ice, and Whalebird dry-hopped grapefruit kombucha. 


The Edison, a Prohibition-themed speakeasy in Downtown Los Angeles, is another bar that specializes in non-alcoholic drinks. The Edison is ideal for those who want the intrigue of a speakeasy without the alcohol. 

If you enjoy seafood, Providence in Hollywood is a seafood-centric establishment that specializes in environmentally friendly mocktails. The bar director creates zero-waste mocktails like the Sea Cucumber, which is made from cucumbers and citrus, or the Pucker Up, which is created from calamansi drinking vinegar, grapefruit, and soda. 


Choose alcohol-free venues - If being around alcohol isn't for you, there are many bars and clubs in LA that serve non-alcoholic drinks and cater to those who choose to stay sober. The Smell is a community-oriented art and music space that welcomes people of all ages who want to participate in and support an environment of creativity, artistic innovation, and freedom. Get involved in sober activities - Joining a sports team or participating in fitness classes can be a great way to stay active and meet new people while staying sober. Los Angeles offers many opportunities to get involved in sober activities such as hiking, yoga, and meditation.


Have a plan - Before heading out for the night, make sure you have a plan in place to help you maintain your confidence and remove any unnecessary anxiety . This may include bringing a sober friend along, being the designated driver, or setting a time to leave the event.
