Structured Sober Living Rooted in Integrity
At Gambit Recovery, we provide stable, affordable sober living homes designed for people ready to stay clean and build a life with purpose. Our mission is simple: structure, support, and accountability in an environment where recovery can actually take root. Our men’s and women’s homes in Arizona, California, Washington, and Missouri follow the same standards—drug-free housing, daily routines, House Managers who lead by example, and a peer community focused on progress. Whether you’re searching for sober living in Chandler, Gilbert, Mesa, West Los Angeles, Poulsbo/Seattle, or the St. Louis area (Florissant and St. Charles), you’ll find a consistent model that helps you move forward one day at a time.
Extracting Individuals From Rock Bottom
Recovery isn't just about getting clean—it's about staying clean. Gambit Recovery offers a safe, comfortable, and supportive home for those ready to move forward. We focus on predictable structure: curfews, chores, meeting attendance, and random UA/BA testing that keeps the environment honest and stable. We empower participants to reconnect with themselves, their families, and their communities. With structure, clear expectations, and peer-driven accountability, we reduce relapse triggers—like isolation, idle time, and unhealthy environments—and create space for real change. Residents learn to show up, build routines, and stack small wins that add up to long-term sobriety.
Where It Started
Gambit Recovery was founded by Tom Fay and Nathan Mitchell—two people who met in sober living in 2011. Both had experienced the revolving door of relapse and saw the cracks in traditional sober living programs. They wanted to build something better—something affordable, highly structured, run with integrity, and focused on long-term success. What started as a shared vision is now a growing nationwide network of sober living homes helping people truly rebuild. The model is simple and repeatable: safe housing, clear standards, and a community that helps residents find work, reconnect with family, and participate in recovery every day.
Why Most Relapse—and How We Prevent It
Getting sober is just the beginning. Many people leave treatment feeling confident—only to return home and realize their old environments haven’t changed. Temptation. Isolation. Toxic people. No accountability. That’s what causes relapse. At Gambit Recovery, we replace all of that with a plan you can live by:
• Mandatory drug and alcohol testing
• Required 12-step or approved recovery meeting attendance
• Daily structure, chores, and responsibilities
• Strong sober community support and alumni involvement
• Help with employment, stability, and purpose (résumés, leads, rides)
We don’t just offer a bed—we offer a plan. And we hold you to it, because consistency is what makes sobriety stick.
Our Residents Are:
✔ Drug-free and verified — random UA/BA keeps the homes safe
✔ Working with accountability to schedules and goals
✔ Engaged in recovery — 12-step or approved groups, sponsors, and weekly check-ins
✔ Reliable community members — they show up for housemates, rides, meetings, and service
✔ Financially responsible — budgeting, and saving toward independence
✔ Building a strong foundation — routines, curfews, chores, and consistent daily habits
✔ Goal-driven — repairing family trust, stabilizing work, handling legal/health to-dos
✔ Leaders in training — many grow into peer leads and House Manager roles
✔ Giving back — alumni mentorship and community service projects
✔ Building something amazing — a sober life they’re proud of and a community that lasts
That mix—clean tests, steady work, active recovery, and real community—turns early sobriety into stability and long-term success.
This Is About More Than Staying Clean
Participants in our homes often arrive at a crossroads—burned out, isolated, and unsure where to start. Through daily structure, community support, and the removal of chaos, they find the confidence to grow again. Residents build real-world habits—showing up to work, saving money, repairing trust at home—and they learn how to live sober in Chandler, Gilbert, Mesa, West Los Angeles, Poulsbo/Seattle, and the St. Louis metro. They heal mentally, emotionally, and physically. Then they pay it forward—by helping the next person walk the path, sponsoring others, and giving back through service projects.

Frequently Asked Questions About Gambit Recovery
What makes Gambit Recovery different from other sober living homes in Arizona?
Many sober living programs focus only on housing, but Gambit Recovery offers structure, accountability, and community in every home. With drug testing, curfews, chores, and House Managers, our sober living in Chandler, Gilbert, and Mesa creates a safe, supportive environment that helps residents build real habits for long-term recovery.
Do you provide sober living for both men and women?
Yes. Gambit Recovery operates structured sober living for men and women across Arizona, California, Washington, and Missouri. We maintain separate men’s and women’s houses to ensure focus, safety, and an environment designed for accountability and growth.
Is Gambit Recovery sober living affordable?
Our homes are intentionally designed to be affordable while still offering high-quality living conditions. Weekly rent covers fully furnished housing, House Manager support, accountability systems, and access to a peer-driven recovery community. This makes our sober living homes in Arizona, Los Angeles, Poulsbo/Seattle, and the St. Louis metro accessible to people committed to their recovery.
Where are your sober living homes located?
We currently operate homes in Chandler, Gilbert, and Mesa, Arizona; West Los Angeles, California; Poulsbo/Seattle, Washington; and Florissant and St. Charles, Missouri. Each location follows the same structured model—drug-free housing, peer support, and accountability routines—so residents get consistent care no matter where they live.
How does Gambit Recovery help prevent relapse?
Relapse prevention is built into our program through structure and accountability. Residents follow daily routines, attend required recovery meetings, submit to random UA/BA testing, and participate in a peer community that shows up for one another. These layers of accountability reduce isolation and idle time—the two biggest triggers for relapse.
Who is a good fit for Gambit Recovery sober living homes?
Our structured sober living is designed for people stepping down from treatment, those in early recovery, or anyone who needs accountability to maintain sobriety. Residents are expected to work, participate in recovery, and live by house standards. Gambit Recovery is not treatment—we complement therapy and 12-step programs with stable, supportive housing.
